Coromandel
Town
This historic township has many restored Victorian buildings and has become
a haven for conservationists, craftspeople and alternative lifestylers.
Local attractions include a narrow gauge mountain railway, mining museum
and the Coromandel Coastal Walkway.

Thames
Built on the pioneering industries of gold mining and kauri logging, the
town of Thames has an appealing, historic main street. History is still
alive in the hotels, buildings and museums of the area.

Thames has two museums – the Thames Historical Museum and the School
of Mines. The Thames market is held every Saturday morning – shop

Whangamata
Few beach destinations are more popular during summer than Whangamata. It
wonderfully combines all the ingredients for a great holiday – beautiful
scenery, thriving township, big surf breaks and safe swimming beaches.

Whitianga
Whitianga is an attractive town with a deepwater harbour. For many years,
it was a leading timber port, loading sailing ships for Norway, Sweden,
France, Italy and Great Britain.

a big-game fishing charter to target marlin, tuna and shark!
Enjoy a day at the quiet Buffalo Beach – named after a ship that was
wrecked here in 1840. Catch the shuttle to Cooks Beach, Hahei, Hot Water
Beach and Cathedral Cove.
