Whakarewarewa

A thermal geyser land, where nature and culture have blended to present a unique insight to humans at one with their surroundings. You can still see how local Maori have for generations used the steaming hot thermal vents to cook their food.

Tumunui

A rich agricultural settlement where sheep, beef, dairy and venison are the mainstays, with forestry and deer velvet as growth areas.
